(Yahoo!) - LL Cool J has just gone where few rappers have.

The "NCIS: Los Angeles" star and host of the Grammy Awards appears on country singer Brad Paisley’s “Accidental Racist.”

The song features Paisley and LL Cool J approaching racism from different perspectives, Paisley from a white man who is proud of his Southern heritage and LL Cool J from a black man who wants to be judged for the content of his character, not his appearance.

“Accidental Racist” appears on Paisley’s Wheelhouse album, which is available Tuesday, April 9.

Paisley returns LL Cool J’s favor by appearing on the iconic rapper’s forthcoming album Authentic, which is due April 30.

Although collaborations between rap and country stars are rare, at least one unlikely cross-genre pairing has enjoyed tremendous success.

In 2004, Nelly and Tim McGraw combined for what is to-date the biggest rap-country collaboration of all time with the hit single “Over And Over.”

Nelly featured the song, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, on his Suit album.

The St. Louis rapper released two albums, Sweat and Suit, on September 14, 2004.
